Flautist Ramani bags honour

BANGALORE: The Percussive Arts Centre here has selected noted flautist N Ramani for thePalaniSubramanyaPillai memorial award on the occasion of its 32ndThalavadyotsav 2013 to be held from July 3 to 7 at the BangaloreGayanaSamaja here.
The other award winners are BK Chandramouli(Palghat Mani Iyer award), NS Krishnamurthy(Bangalore K Venkataram award), BRRavikumar (H Puttachar award) and BSPrashant (Carnatic Music Association of North America endowment award).
The awards will be presented on July 7 2013. The festival will feature performances by Tirumale Srinivas, MS Sheela, Sikkil Gurucharan, a special instrumental ensemble 'Sunaada Vaadya Vaibhava' and a unique percussion ensemble 'Laya Lavanya' under the guidance of Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma.
