Oh Swaminaatha (Shanmukha, Murugaa, lord of Gods), protect me, One who is self-effulgent (luminous), Lord of VaLLi , teacher, Guha (name of Skanda- reared secretly (by Karthika women)) and lord of the army of Devas (Gods) (also husband of DevaSena).

Paripaalana- protect, maam- me, swa- self, prakaasha- light, illumined, Isha- loved, attracted, guru guha �(poet� signature here), guru-teacher (Lord Swaminatha taught Shiva, the scret of the Om mantra), deva- gods, sena- army, Devasena (consort of Shanumukha along with VaLLi)
